Counsellor, trainer & group facilitator
Welcome to Max Cohen Wellbeing. Let me introduce myself and my Counselling, LGBTQ+ Training and Wellbeing workshop services.
I am an experienced counsellor, trainer and group facilitator based in Norwich, Norfolk. I work both online and in-person with people experiencing a range of difficulties. I have been a guest speaker and on panel debates highlighting wellbeing for LGBTQ+ communities.
I work with young people (18+), adults and family members on all issues including LGBTQ+ issues, questioning gender identity (trans+, genderqueer, non-binary) and sexual orientation, sexuality, relationships, living with HIV, survivors of domestic abuse, crime, discrimination and work-related problems.
Counselling (individual, couple and relationships counselling)
I integrate talking therapy with other useful models and techniques. I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). I hold an Advanced Accredited Pink Therapy certificate, which means I have provided evidence of my work with LGBTQ+ clients and communities.
Training
I am a qualified and experienced trainer, delivering both in-person and online sessions to groups and organisations. I specialise in delivering LGBTQ+ awareness training and LGBTQ+ affirmative training to counsellors and wellbeing practitioners.
Wellbeing Workshops
I have written and delivered wellbeing courses for LGBTQ+ people based on compassionate mindfulness. I write tailor-made sessions for HR professionals and organisations to better support LGBTQ+ people in their workplaces.

Thank you so much. My time/work with you has benefited me in such unexpected ways - I didn’t know I’d learn so much about myself in such a short time or even that there was so much to discover.
Group

Max created a safe and accepting space in which everyone was valued and could be themselves. I felt uplifted after the session.
Couple
counselling
I was apprehensive about coming to talk about my relationship but I felt at ease with Max and it was so helpful being able to open up to my partner.

I feel more confident, recognising from your talk, that there are a lot of overlaps with the way I work, such as self-compassion, re - framing and mindfulness.

For now, I’m comfortable that I’ve reached a good point to move forwards from. It’s not the clarity I expected but, becoming “more stable” has given me a wonderful vantage point.
